New Service Changes Begin May 3, 2026
(Thousand Palms, CA) – SunLine Transit Agency will implement scheduled service changes effective Sunday, May 3, 2026, including adjustments to the fixed-route network to create a more balanced level of service across routes.
The service changes that will be in effect beginning May 3, 2026 are listed below. The public should note that one of these changes is significant in Cathedral City, with Route 2 no longer stopping at B Street and Buddy Rogers.
- Route 1WV: This route will still service B Street, but it will no longer lay over at that location. Minor schedule adjustments have also been made.
- Route 2: Riders of Route 2 should note that it will no longerservice B Street at Buddy Rogers, and the new end-of-line location is at Palm Canyon at Allen.
- Route 4: With Route 4, there are slight time adjustments to the weekend schedule. Weekday service remains the same.
- Route 5: There will be some minor timing adjustments on Route 5 to improve service reliability.
- Route 6: The schedule for Route 6 was updated to coordinate transfers to Route 14. This route now runs later in the evening, with one additional trip in each direction.
- Route 14: This route will have minor timing adjustments to improve service reliability. Town Center departures will start 5 minutes earlier. Route 14 will now incorporate both a weekday and a weekend schedule.
SunLine Transit Agency implements service updates three times per year to ensure transit service continues to reflect the evolving needs of the Coachella Valley. These scheduled updates allow the agency to respond to ridership trends, seasonal demand, and community feedback while maintaining reliable and efficient service for passengers.
