Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program
As a recipient of federal financial assistance from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT), SunLine has adopted a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26, “Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Financial Assistance Programs.”
The DBE Program creates a level playing field on which DBEs can compete for and participate in DOT-funded contracts and subcontracts. It also assures that all contracts and procurements will be administered without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin.
Suspension of DBE Goal Enforcement & Changes to DBE Certification Standards
A DBE is a for-profit small business concern:
- That is at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically disadvantaged;
AND
- Whose management and daily operations are controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who must control the management and daily business operations of your small business.
