SunLine’s Transit Facilities Design Guidelines help local jurisdictions and the development community to accommodate transit in their development plans. Working with SunLine through the review process will promote design options that encourage a transit-oriented environment, and also support mandates by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) during initial planning phases. This manual includes guidelines for transit friendly urban design, the physical dimensions and attributes of SunLine equipment, design guidance on streets and intersections and design information on transit amenities such as bus stops, bus shelters and major transit facilities.

SunLine customers are invited to suggest locations that would benefit from the construction of a bus shelter. Once this form is filled out and submitted, the company’s Planning Department will assess recommended locations and determine if they meet SunLine’s selection criteria.
