2013
- Groundbreaking for new 25,000-square-foot Administration Building and Transit Hub
- Held the 6th Annual State of Public Transit Luncheon
2012
- SunLine co-host the California Transit Association's 47th Annual Fall Conference & Expo
- SunLine dedicates the newly renovated SunLine Learning Center, formerly known as the Zweig Educational Center
- SunLine celebrates 35 years of service to the Coachella Valley
- Held the 5th Annual State of Public Transit Luncheon
2011
- SunLine assisted regional transit agency’s to provide transportation for the funeral of former First Lady Betty Ford
- Held the 4th Annual State of Public Transit Luncheon
- Maintenance bay expansion and Avail / bus tracker technology was implemented with the help of ARRA / TIGER funding
- H2 dispenser tested and issued temporary approval for sales by Department of Food and Agriculture’s Division of Measurement Standards. Completion of type approval by end of 2011
- Took delivery of the 7th generation hydrogen fueled vehicle - "The American Fuel Cell Bus”
2010
- Received EPA’s “Clean Air Excellence” Award
- Held the 3rd Annual State of Public Transit Luncheon
- Took delivery of the 6th generation hydrogen fuel cell bus
- Installed first Ticket Vending Machine
- Received three first place APTA awards for advertising
- The 4th Annual Fill-the–Bus community food drive collected a record 10 tons
2009
- Held the 2nd Annual State of Public Transit Luncheon
- Took delivery of ten, 32-foot El Dorado vehicles
- New Farebox collection system installed in all buses
- Introduced new magnetic bus passes
- Installed 149 new bus shelters throughout the Valley
- Completed Highway 111 Bus Rapid Transit Study
- Upgraded and added security cameras in fixed route fleet
- Received APTA’s 2009 Bus Safety Merit Award
- Completed CNG pressure upgrade from 3000 psig to 3600 psig at Div. 1 & 2
- Held 3rd Annual Fill-the-Bus community Food Drive
- Installed new SunLine Transit Agency sign at property entrance
2008
- Hosted the 1st annual “State of Public Transit” Luncheon Forum
- New fleet of vehicles unveiled (41 Total) with fresh new logo
- Installed 110 solar powered iSTOPS and 150 new bus benches and trash receptacles
- Implemented an Employee Team Safety Incentive Program
- SunFuels installed credit card reader

2003 - 2007
- SunLine celebrates 30 years of service
- SunLine led a coalition of regional transit agencies to provide transportation for the funeral of former United States President Gerald R. Ford
- SunLine is officially recognized as a California Hydrogen Highway Network station
- 15 new CNG buses arrive
- Completed the first Comprehensive Operational Analysis of Public Transit ever undertaken in the Coachella Valley.
- SunLine celebrates the successful installation of the Nation’s first, large-scale commercial hydrogen reformer
- SunLine launched “SunFuels” to provide alternative fuels to vehicles in the Coachella Valley
- First in-service, hydrogen-fueled electric hybrid bus joins SunLine fleet
- SunLine introduces a hydrogen-fueled electric fuel cell bus with ZERO EMISSIONS to fleet
- New General Manager, Mr. C. Mikel Oglesby joins SunLine

1998 - 2002
- 25th Anniversary Celebration begins at the July 1 Board Meeting
- SunLine Boardroom re-named the Richard S. Kelly Board Room
- SunLine becomes California Fuel Cell Associate Partner
- SunLine founding partner in International Fuel Cell Consortium
- SunLine acquires two Hythane buses
- Former 1985 Gillig CNG bus #1477 converted to Mobile Library
Five Years
1993 - 1997
- SunDial is in compliance with ADA and service is expanded to weekends/holidays to match fixed route
- Three SunBuses arrive in Atlanta, GA to transport spectators at Centennial Olympics
- SunLine installs solar lights at bus stops and shelters
- Bike racks added to entire SunBus fleet
- The Nation's first alternative fuel fleet converts overnight to 100% to CNG
- Groundbreaking for first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Thousand Palms
- Experimental Detroit Diesel CNG engine is installed on Gillig bus #1477 for testing
- SunLine Mechanics are first "graduates" of College of the Desert's Energy Technology Training Center
- Trial bike racks installed on 8 SunBuses

1988 - 1992
- Board of Directors decide to go with 100% alternate fuel fleet
- SunDial rolls into service with 10 vans and carries over 28,000 passengers
- SunBus operates the Sun Trolley in downtown Palm Springs
Ten Years
1977 - 1987
- SunLine celebrates 10-year anniversary
- New Maintenance and bus wash facility ribbon-cutting
- Operations moved from Palm Springs to Thousand Palms
- SunBus rolls into service; 22 buses; $1.9M budget, 500,000 passengers
