JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general direction and supervision of the Maintenance Director, successful candidate performs visual inspection to include obvious damage; worn flat tires, broken windows or doors, mirrors, or destination signs. Replaces alternators, generators, starters; inspects and replaces radiators, heaters, windshield wipers, motors and hoses. Candidate must be able to work with little or no supervision and be able to work all assigned shifts. This candidate will serve as an inspector and trouble shooter to determine proper corrective maintenance procedures prior to attempting repairs. Candidate needs to be skilled and perform scheduled preventative maintenance, diagnostics evaluations and maintain the fleet to meet and exceed DOT and CHP regulations. Candidate must also have extensive knowledge in repairs, electrical, engine, transmission, air conditioning system, and other various components. Work with CNG is desirable. Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. Must provide basic tools necessary to perform basic functions of position and be familiar with safe use of such tools.
Must be familiar with the safe operation of machines and equipment which they are authorized and trained to use. Examples of equipment and machines are welding, lifts and paint sprayers.
Must use protective safety equipment in conjunction with designated activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School/GED required. Three to five years directly related experience. Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a California Commercial “Class B” Driver’s License and Air Brake Certification. Candidate must have own tools.
An H-6 DMV printout must be submitted with application for further consideration.
Upon a conditional job offer, candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, complete physical assessment exam and, an extensive background check.

Minimum Requirements:
