What do I need to apply for a taxicab permit?

First: Call to make an appointment 760-343-3456, ask for taxi.

Then you will need the following.

1. Driver application form (this will be filled out at SunLine Regulatory Administration)

2. Fees, these can now be paid online prior to an appointment at SunLine Regulatory Administration.

3. Current California Driver's License.

4. Current 10 year DMV Print-Out.

5. Intent to hire from Franchise you wish to drive taxicab for.

6. Signed permit (to be done at SunLine Regulatory Administration).

7. Live scan (finger printing) you will be sent to the location.

8. Drug Test, you will be sent to the location.

 

Once you have successfully processed through the permit steps youwill receive your taxicab permit.

 

*Please note that the result from the drug testing facility and the Department of Justice can take up to 10 business days to process.

  New Driver application fee - $50.00

  Renewal Fee - $50.00

  Transfer Fee - $50.00

 

You will need to have for your appointment

  Current California Driver's License

  Current DMV Print-Out (10year)

  Intent to Hire. ”This is provided to you from the Taxi Franchise”

  2 Current 2'x2' photographs

  Signed Permit (Done at SunLine)

  LiveScan (SunLine will Direct you to location)

  Drug Test (SunLine will Direct you to location)
